The collection:
This includes steel and brass jewellery on sterling silver chain, cake decorations, bookmarks, mugs and printed organic cotton range. The print "Glider" is available in two colour ways in mugs and on handmade organic cotton cushions and bags. The fabric is also available to buy by the metre.

The designers:
Ridley & Dowse is a design partnership between jeweller and accessory designer  Vivienne Ridley and Susannah Dowse a fashion and print designer. Between them they have a design heritage that includes collaborations with Boxfresh, Topman, Harrods, Ted Baker and Wayne Hemmingway.

The products:
The partnership was launched in autumn 2008 at Top Drawer with the jewellery collections "Knick knacks trinkets and what nots" A collection inspired by Susannah's grandmothers charm bracelet. Accompanied by a range of distinctive graphic greetings cards.
Ridley & Dowse are pleased to offer the most popular items from the previous jewellery collections in brass alongside the original steel. 

Projects:

Ridley & Dowse have also recently renovated a room at The Hotel Pelirocco. Clock Cuckoo Land is the newest room at the hotel. The design for the room was inspired by the designers organic cotton 'Glider' print fabric. The room features many vintage beveled mirrors that have been etched with images of birds and clouds and a laser etched cuckoo clock. The room was officially launched in June and has been booked solid since then.

Over the last three years Ridley & Dowse have built an extensive customer base with numerous stockists and a strong online presence with their own online shop and sales through Culture Label, Bouf, Etsy and notonthehighstreet.com. Their British stockists include The Village Shop at Cowley Manor, Cheltenham, One of Vogues top 20 British Boutiques and the prestigious Saatchi Gallery.

The concept:
Ridley & Dowse make all their products ethically in Britain. They are committed to ethical production and will never outsource their manufacturing to some far flung faceless factory. They are designers committed to producing beautiful things at as little cost to human rights and the environment as possible. They believe that the beauty in an object comes in part from how it is made and by whom.

Notes to editors
Ridley and Dowse launched in September 2008 at Top Drawer Autumn and is based at 42 Hampstead Road, Brighton.

Susannah Dowse graduated from Brighton University (in Fine Art). She is a fashion and print designer whose clients have included Boxfresh, Topman and Sari, and she produced bespoke millinery for Wayne Hemmingway. She also established and managed the award winning Remade label for recycled textile charity, TRAID (Textile Recycling for Aid and International Development). She has lectured in sustainable design at Portsmouth University and in fashion design at Winchester School of Art.

Vivienne Ridley graduated from Sheffield University (in 3D Design, Metalwork and Jewellery). She ran a successful jewellery company for 12 years based around small batch production, high volume orders and handcrafted bespoke commissions. Her work has sold internationally and in UK outlets including Harrods, Ted Baker and Warehouse. Vivienne has lectured in Foundation Studies and Jewellery at FE college, Manchester. She met Susannah when she designed and made accessories for TRAID.
